In 2010, a little girl walked into the Chanel Boutique in Palm Beach, Florida wearing a neon-green, eyelet dress.
Maybe it was her height, or maybe it was her traffic-cone colored ensemble, but the sales associates instantly knew she would not be a paying customer. However, they saw the wonder in her eyes and took her around the store, letting her examine pieces from the collection and explaining the inspiration behind them. They even presented her with the Winter 2010 catalogue (which she still has to this day) packaged in the iconic Chanel way; black bag, white flower and a label embossed ribbon.
It was in that moment that the little girl realized fashion was her forever. She wanted to be surrounded by it for the rest of her life.
This blog is the story of that little girl in the Chanel store. Me.
I may not wear fluorescent dresses anymore but I still count Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld among my heroes. I believe that fashion is about more than just clothing, it’s about the feeling received from expressing yourself through clothing. I believe in rewearing pieces. And, believe you can look fashion week ready while ballin’ on a college student budget.
Two years ago, I made the big move from a tiny town in Michigan to Chicago, where I’m studying Public Relations at Loyola. With my first fashion internship under my belt, I’m just getting started.
This blog is a place for me to share fashion, college and lifestyle related content along with professional resources. Expect to hear me ramble about my love for outerwear, the beauty of the Chicago skyline and the amazing deals I score at TJ Maxx.
I can’t thank you enough for stopping by this blog, fashion is my first love and I’m thrilled to have a platform from which I can share my passion. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
